Concepts of My Worlds

Frequently Asked Questions

Hello,

I sometimes get questions about the stories I write, so here are some answers to common questions. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely,

Shapur (formerly world 1)

This world is based on a short story I wrote about an orphan who is adopted by a good king. He struggles to understand concepts such as family, safety, belonging, love, ect. This story is largely allegorical to express the Christian concepts of salvation and learning to live a new life.

Main Characters

  • Shapur – the orphan who becomes a prince
  • The King – I have not given him a name yet
  • Shira – a very outgoing and talkative girl who befriends Shapur

Low Gravity World/World 2

These stories take place on another planet with lower gravity than Earth. This is a rocky planet similar to Earth except most of the surface is covered by a heavier than air, non-breathable gas called “the mist”. This part of the atmosphere contains an ecosystem completely alien to humans. On top of the mist is a layer of breathable air. People and more familiar ecosystems live on mesas and mountaintops which rise above the mist. Sometime in the past, floating cities were invented. Many of the stories take place on one of these which the residents simply refer to as “The City”.

A mountain sticks up above a heavier than air, non-breathable gas called “the mist”. The top of the mountain provides habitat suitable for humans.

Main Characters

  • Delia – She thinks and feels deeply and is very good with hydroponics. She is a glue character who connects with others easily and helps others form connections.
  • Tristan – He is a bit of an adrenaline junkie who loves flying. He is one of the lucky ones who had to correct build to operate a wingsuit. (I must admit, the reason this world has low gravity is so people can strap wings to their arms and fly) He always means well, but sometimes he acts before he thinks.
  • Karina – She is a smart and stubborn inventor who wants to fly. Since she cannot operate a wingsuit, she is inventing a different way to fly. (center of gravity is by the pelvis instead of the shoulders, if you care) She also loves coffee. I want to bring her husband into more stories but have not yet.

  1. Thanks, this is a great summary of the worlds and characters, and is very helpful. The timelines are especially helpful in connecting the different stories together.
Do you have any plans to explore the alien ecosystem in the mist in a future story?

    1. You’re welcome. I have no plans at all because I make up the story as I go. I have some general direction planned, but I discover the details as I write. Knowing me, I will probably include more of the beings of the mist, but I don’t know what that will look like. For now, we have the gulpers, snatches, and storms in the mist. Keep reading, and we will find out more together.
